Launch of Manor Memories

Manor Memories was launched on Monday 14th January at a special event held at St Aidan’s Church on Manor Lane.  Despite the snow, people came along to hear more about the project.  After a short presentation by Project Officer, Nicola Smith, there was an opportunity for questions before we enjoyed the buffet provided for us by the Rhubarb Shed Café based at Manor Oaks Farm, also on Manor Lane.

Nicola spoke about the project in detail, and emphasised that it is a community project to bring people together to share stories and learn about their heritage.

Through ‘interviewing’ members of the community and producing a booklet, a DVD and walking trails, we will ensure that stories don’t get lost and that we can find out more about the area through research.

The project will consist of interviews, visits to Manor Lodge and Norfolk Heritage Park, talks by speakers about the local area and about social history, sessions on how to research heritage, and reminiscence workshops.  All costs are taken care of as part of the funding so there is no cost to anybody taking part in the project.
