Reverend Lucy Sablan Appointed to New Team Rector Role
The Manor Parish position will also be combined with a Canonry at the Cathedral.
The Bishop of Sheffield is delighted to announce that, following a thorough appointment process, the Revd Lucy Sablan has been appointed Team Rector of the Benefice of Sheffield Manor and Oversight Minister in the North Attercliffe (A1) Mission Area. Six months after her induction, it is envisaged that Lucy will be installed as Residentiary Canon for Urban Evangelism at Sheffield Cathedral.
Combining the role of Team Rector at Manor Parish with a Canonry at the Cathedral, will offer Lucy and the parish, significant support and a wider network of resourcing opportunities. It will be a new and exciting post, bringing greater support to the mission and ministry within the Manor Parish.
Lucy has served as Co-Area Dean and played a valuable part in presiding at many Sheffield Manor Parish Sunday services and baptisms during the vacancy. She is currently Senior Leader of St Leonard’s Community Church (BMO) at Arbourthorne, where she will retain oversight. Lucy will be supported in continuing the work at St Leonard’s by the excellent team already in place, including the Curate Revd. Britt Webb, and they are all excited for the new possibilities that working with partners across the Mission Area will hold.
Lucy will be licensed in February at St Swithun’s Church; more details of that will follow.

“I am really excited to be taking on such a creative new role that combines serving in the part of the city that I love with the incredible resourcing opportunities and network that the Cathedral provides. I am looking forward to expanding the area I serve and joining the team at the Manor Parish in discovering what the Spirit leads us into next!”
