St Aidan's 80th Anniversary Celebrations
The weekend of 14th and 15th September saw some very special events to celebrate 80 years of St Aidan's Church. On the Saturday we had a World Party for the diverse range of cultures and nationalities in St Aidan's Congregation. Food from the various countries was provided and some people entertained with presentations and songs.
Then on the Sunday there was a special service, with Bishop Steven, the Bishop of Sheffield, presiding. Highlights included a very special performance by the Sunday Club children of "You Are An Amazing God" which they performed perfectly, the singing of the parish song, the dedication of a beautiful and colourful banner made by the children of Manor Lodge School, a showstopping cake in the shape of St Aidan's and a rousing performance by the Zimbabwean Mothers Union. It was truly a wonderful weekend of celebration and here's to the next 80 years.
